The ESL Error Report page is your central workspace for finding and fixing label issues. Instead of making you check multiple screens to find layout or transmission faults, this page gathers all active errors across your store into a single view.
To access this page, click the Reports link in the left-hand navigation panel.
Note: The ESL Error Report only retains error data for 90 days. Older errors are automatically purged from the system.
How the Error Report Works
To keep the report clean and easy to use, the page follows two basic rules:
💡 One Row per ESL: Each unique ESL ID is restricted to exactly one row in the report. If an ESL experiences multiple errors over time, the system automatically overwrites the old data and only displays the most recent error.
Cleared Means Resolved: This page only displays active errors. Once you fix a device's core issue (such as successfully reapplying a link or re-pairing an item), that row will automatically disappear from the screen on the next system sync. Your goal is always a completely empty report grid!
Where Error Data Comes From
The report continuously pulls active errors from two main areas of the platform:
- Performance (Batch Updates): Captures item-level errors that happen during store-wide price updates, promotions, or layout changes
- Device Management: Gathers physical hardware errors, network connection timeouts, or configuration drops happening across all store devices.
Error Grid Columns
The report layout is organized into structured columns, providing the explicit hardware, product, and logistical data needed to diagnose a fault at a glance.
Column | Description |
| Order | Displays the specific batch deployment order name or ID in which the error occurred. Note: This column will be blank if the update occurred via an individual action, such as a manual ESL relink |
| Product ID | Displays the scanned UPC or SKU code assigned to the failing ESL. |
| ESL ID | Displays the unique physical hardware identification number for the specific ESL. |
| Mode | Displays the specific ESL screen page (e.g., Pricing or Stocking) that was active when the error occurred. |
| Product Name | Displays the text description of the item pulled from your product database to provide context for the UPC |
| Size | Indicates the physical dimensions of the ESL device (e.g., 2.6") |
| Status | Tracks the explicit operational state, identifying the device as “Failed” due to an active error. |
| Error Type | Displays the specific reason the ESL failed to update or verify |
| Error Date | Logs the precise date and time when the error was captured by the system. |
