The Device Battery widget categorizes your Electronic Shelf Labels (ESLs) based on their remaining power. This allows maintenance teams to proactively identify and replace batteries before a device goes offline.
Battery Status Categories
The system classifies devices into three health states:
- Exhausted: The battery is depleted, and the device require immediate replacement.
- Low: The device is still functional but has reached a critical power threshold. These should be added to your upcoming maintenance schedule to prevent future failures.
- Normal: The device has sufficient power to operate and receive updates reliably.
Understanding the Data
Each category provides two key metrics:
- Count (Large Number): The absolute number of physical devices currently in that state.
- Percentage (Circular Chart): The proportion of your total device inventory represented by that status.
Key Actions
- Manage Devices: Click the Manage Devices link at the top right of the widget to open a detailed list of every ESL. From there, you can filter by battery status to export a list of specific ESL IDs and the product they are linked to for the maintenance team.
- Proactive Replacement: We recommend addressing all Exhausted devices first, followed by Low battery units, to maintain a high update success rate.
| 📄Note: ESLs with "Exhausted" batteries will frequently appear in the Failed Updates report with a "Device Unreachable" error. Always check battery levels when troubleshooting connectivity issues. |
